Buffalo Grove car wash to sell used cars

Buffalo Grove trustees have granted the new owner of a body repair shop and car wash the ability to sell up to seven used cars on the property at 55 W. Dundee Road. The existing body repair and car wash use would continue.

The new owner, APR Car Wash, approached the village for an amendment to the B2 business zoning district, which does not list used car sales as a permitted or special use.

The text amendment passed by the board along with the ordinance approving the special use would only allow it as an ancillary use for existing auto repair facilities in the B2 District. The business is the only auto repair facility in the B2 zoning district.

The attorney for the petitioner, former Village President Jeffrey Braiman, said, "None of the vehicles will be stored or parked on Dundee Road." He added, "There will be seven autos stored there," but once a car is sold, the dealer would have the right to replace it.
