Tried and true Sox cliché stopper
I have finally found a way to turn Ken "Hawk" Harrelson's myriad worn-out clichés into a positive.
For the last three weeks, every time I hear an annoying utterance such as: "Souvenir left side"; "Souvenir right side"; "If you just tuned in"; "Don't stop now boys"; "He's got the catbird seat"; "That was a hang woofem"; and on and on, ad nauseam, I simply hit the mute button on my remote.
I am well over 70 percent (that would be a .700 batting average) that when the Hawk is on mute for that batter (and the Sox could be on offense or defense - doesn't matter) something good follows for the Sox.
Once the next hitter is up, then the Hawk comes off of mute. So not only does this "muting regimen" seem to be working in a very positive way for the Sox, I am now finding myself urging the Hawk to say something annoying so I can put him on mute and wait for something good to happen for our red hot Sox.
Perhaps if we get enough fans on this routine, we can end up winning 30 or 40 in a row. Go Sox and go Hawk!
