Wake up and stop Cook sales tax hike
When have we seen enough from the Cook County Board regarding the ever increasing sales tax?
The cesspool that is government in Chicago never seems to have enough money to pay for the crime and corruption that they never seem to control. It's no small wonder that nine commissioners would have absolutely no problem passing this legislation that certainly benefits Chicago while suburban Cook County has to pay the bulk of the bill.
We see a continuous attack on our pocketbooks from the county and the state for an endless amount of money to pay for "this and that" program, yet they never seem to solve the problems at hand or pay down a deficit budget.
The voters of Cook County need to realize that we face a "bottomless" pit of expense to live in this county and finally have to call our illustrious legislators to task for this latest absurdity.
It's time to wake up and take our county back from the tax-and-spend mentality that is our fate. Enough is enough.
