Animal hospital gives dogs their day
Submitted by Animal Hospital of Lake Villa
Animal Hospital of Lake Villa recently held "A Day with the Dogs." The successful fundraising event was luau themed and benefitted four local rescue groups: Petropolis Inc., Cast-A-Way Rescue, Midwest Beagle Rescue and Green Pup Shelter.
The event was free to attend and open to the public and people/dog-friendly dogs. Food was sold by Ana's Eats and Treats, which is often at the Grayslake farmers market.
There was also a demonstration by Terri Kaminski and K-9 Nadja of Seldin Security. The music was provided by 98.3 WRLR, Round Lake's local radio station. The event also featured face painting by Maria, Psychic Readings by Debbie, games and vendor booths. There was also a photo booth available, where attendees could dress up in luau gear and take pictures with their pooches.
The event raised about $1,900 and awareness for the rescue groups. None of it would have been possible without sponsors: Optimum Carpet Care, Shag Bark Pet Spa, Peace Paws & Harmony, Central Bark, Pet Bath and Beyond, Elite Embroidery, and Animal Hospital of Lake Villa. Thanks also go to all of the volunteers and participants.
Anyone who "likes" Animal Hospital of Lake Villa on Facebook can vote for next year's theme and give suggestions for games and booths.
