Palatine Chamber's outdoor Movie Night set for Aug. 16

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will present the film "Remember the Titans" for its annual outdoor Movie Night on Sunday, Aug. 16.

The football-themed movie starring Denzel Washington will begin at dusk on the side of the BMO Harris Bank building, 50 N. Brockway St., in downtown Palatine.

Movie Night festivities will start at 6 p.m. with tailgating activities, including baggo and ladder ball at the bank. Children's art projects, games and a variety of family activities also will be available.

The event is free to the public and seating is available on Station Street, just east of the bank building. The chamber recommends people bring their own lawn chairs.

"We are excited to once again offer a beer garden and pizzas from Lamplighter Inn during the event this year," said Mindy Phillips, director of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce. "This is the 6th annual outdoor movie night presented by the chamber and each year it continues to grow in popularity."

A portion of the funds raised throughout the event will benefit the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship programs. Lead sponsor for Movie Night is BMO Harris Bank.
