Crash on I-290 involves three semitrailer trucks

Three people were sent to hospitals Thursday morning after a crash involving three commercial vehicles on eastbound I-290 just west of St. Charles Road, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 9:25 a.m.

According to a state police news release, a semitrailer truck driven by Roy Hegwood, 31, of Chicago, rear-ended a semitrailer truck driven by William Moore, 57, of Joplin, Missouri, which caused Moore's truck to rear-end a semitrailer truck driven by Yakubov Redzheov of Schiller Park.

Hegwood and his passenger, Roger Pickens, 50, of Posen, were taken to Loyola Medical Center.

Moore was transported to Elmhurst Hospital.

The crash temporarily closed some lanes of traffic.
