Elgin man charged with child porn

A 26-year-old Elgin man was arrested after police found child pornography on a computer, police said Wednesday night.

Samuel Galvan of the 700 block of North Grove Avenue was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony, and is scheduled to appear this morning in Kane County bond court, Elgin Police Cmdr. Ana Lalley said in a news release.

Elgin's major investigations division executed a search warrant Wednesday morning after a four-month investigation stemming from information received by the Illinois attorney general's task force on Internet crimes against children, Lalley said.

Elgin officers recovered “numerous” images of child pornography, and Galvan was arrested without incident, police said.
