AVON, Ohio - The Schaumburg Boomers salvaged a game in the opening series of the second half, scoring a 2-1 victory in a pitcher's duel with the Lake Erie Crushers.

Schaumburg posted the winning run in the seventh when TJ Bennett led off with a double, moved up on a sacrifice, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jordan Dean.

Cody tossed seven innings to improve to 6-1 on the season. The victory ties Seth Webster for the team's career mark. Cody allowed just 1 run on 5 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Hideyoshi Otake and Alan Oaks combined on the win with Oaks becoming the eighth player to save a game this season for the Boomers. The Boomers snapped a five-game slide with the win and continue a six-game roadswing on Tuesday.
