Mundelein man killed in I-94 motorcycle crash

A Mundelein man was killed late Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving hit a retaining wall on Interstate 94 near Morton Grove, authorities said.

Eduardo Quevedo-Alcala, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, officials from the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Authorities said Quevedo-Alcala was traveling at a high rate of speed on the motorcycle at 11:13 p.m. when it swerved into the retaining wall at mile post 25.3, near the Edens Spur, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation, authorities said. An autopsy is scheduled to take place Tuesday.
