Campton Hills Police to offer Senior Citizen Police Academy

The Campton Hills Police Department will host its first Senior Citizen Police Academy Aug. 17-21. The classes will be held at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old LaFox Road in Campton Hills. The class will run from 10 a.m. to noon each morning. There is no cost for participants to attend.

Topics include: "Cons and Scams," "Personal Safety," "Home Security," "9-1-1/Communication" and "Driving Safety."

The class will be taught by Campton Hills Officers Steve Millar and Dan Hatt. Both officers have extensive experience in instructing the Senior Citizen Academy.

Participants are encouraged to enroll early to guarantee a spot in class. Class size is limited to 20 participants. Enrollment deadline is Monday, Aug. 10.
