Buffalo Grove Art Festival back for 13th year

The Buffalo Grove Art Festival is back this weekend for the 13th year, and it remains one of the top draws of the summer in the Northwest suburbs. More than 100 artists, many international, have been lined up for two days of demonstrations, exhibits, sales, live music, food and kids' activities.

The festival is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 11-12, and held at the Buffalo Grove Town Center, Lake-Cook Road at Route 83.

Currently rated as one of the top 100 art festivals in the country, the Buffalo Grove Art Festival is located on the main drive of Buffalo Grove Town Center, this popular festival offers fine art of all mediums - painting, drawing, jewelry, ceramics, prints, fiber, sculpture, photographs, glass and mixed media.

As well, art enthusiasts can watch the masters at work with art demos and booth chats taking place all weekend long.

In addition to the artwork, festivalgoers will enjoy live performances from a variety of musical acts on the music stage sponsored by WLIT-FM, great food and art activities for kids, including an art scavenger hunt and spin art at the festival.

Daily drawings take place where several festivalgoers will receive Art Buck$, courtesy of Amdur Productions, to spend on a piece of art at any of Amdur Productions' 2015 festivals.

The fest also features a showcase for up-and-coming artists, ages 6 to 18.
