Lake Zurich man charged with reproducing child pornography
In an early morning raid Thursday, Lake County sheriff's police arrested a Lake Zurich man they say duplicated, distributed and stored child pornography on his computer.
According to a news release, Jonathon C. Crouter, 23, of the 100 block of Pine Avenue, has been charged with 10 counts of reproducing child pornography. Each count carries a possible sentence of a minimum of six to 30 years in prison.
Police acquired a search warrant through an investigation conducted by the cybercrimes Units of the Lake County state's attorney's and sheriff's offices. Police executed the search warrant early Thursday morning, seizing multiple electronic devices from Crouter's home.
Police said they examined the evices and found hundreds of pornographic videos involving children under the age of 13. Police said they also determined during the investigation that Crouter reproduced several videos containing child pornography.
Crouter is being held in the Lake County jail pending a Friday bond hearing.
