Boy suffers minor injuries when struck by car in Rolling Meadows

A 5-year-old boy suffered minor injuries Sunday when struck by a car while crossing the street near Plum Grove Junior High School in Rolling Meadows, police said.

The boy was riding his bike with his father and several others at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday on the 2600 block of Plum Grove Road, when a driver who had stopped to let the others pass did not see him and drove forward, knocking him off his bike. The boy was treated at Northwest Community Hospital for scrapes and bruises, police said.

No citations were issued.
