Choir director should accept church's position

In response to your article on Wednesday July 1 regarding Mr. Colin Collette, he needs to move on. There is no dispute that he is talented and well liked, but many talented people have lost their jobs in the last several years. How can he expect to be employed by the Catholic Church when he is actively going against their doctrine?

The church does not make changes lightly. It took the Catholic Church 350 years to apologize to Galileo. What about those of us that value our Catholic up bringing? Where are our rights?

From everything I've read, the church wishes him well in his future endeavors and he is welcome as a parishioner but he cannot be employed. Being a gay man, he must have known the consequences when he took on employment with the Catholic Church.

I love pork, but I wouldn't protest my local synagogue to have a rib fest.
