Man injured in crash that closed two lanes on I-90

A driver was injured Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash that closed the left lane of both eastbound and westbound traffic on the Jane Addams Tollway at Roselle Road in Schaumburg for about 4½ hours.

Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Chadd Brody said witnesses told investigators that the driver was heading east in the far-right lane of traffic at 2:49 p.m. and swerved to the left, cutting across several lanes before slamming into and flipping over the concrete wall dividing eastbound and westbound traffic.

Brody said the man was trapped in the vehicle when first responders arrived. After cutting the driver free, they rushed him Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Brody said he did not have an update on the man's condition Thursday night.

Brody said the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
