Robert Morris University Illinois names new president

Arlington Heights resident Mablene Krueger has been named president of Robert Morris University Illinois, the college's board of trustees announced.

Krueger will replace Michael P. Viollt, who served as president for the past 20 years and will become chancellor.

A native of Colchester, Illinois, Krueger graduated from the RMU Carthage campus in 1977. She returned to become an instructor, teaching business administration and then became director of the RMU Springfield campus in 1994. She relocated to the Chicago campus in 2000 where she served as Senior Vice President for Enrollment and Academics. Most recently, she has served as provost of the university since 2005.

Krueger attended the University of Illinois at Springfield where she received her bachelor's and master of business administration degrees. She is a resident of Arlington Heights.

“I am honored to serve as President of our university,” she said. “The Board and President Viollt's vision and leadership have brought numerous recognitions and accolades to Robert Morris. I'm excited to continue the course as we reach even greater heights in the years to come.”

Robert Morris University Illinois is based in Chicago, with campus locations in Arlington Heights, DuPage, Elgin, Orland Park, Bensenville, Springfield, Peoria, Schaumburg and Lake County.
