Woodridge 12U Bulldogs Baseball Battles Injuries to Capture 3rd Straight Championship

The Woodridge Bulldogs 12U team overcame some major injuries this year to capture its third consecutive WSBL championship, in a historic low scoring game. The Bulldogs beat the Will County Elite 1-0 in a game where the only run scored was on a wild pitch in the fourth inning. "With two of our best hitters being out with injuries, we had to play mistake free baseball on defense in order to win the championship, and that's exactly what we did", said Manager Brian Jarvis.

The Bulldogs made zero fielding errors during the game, and they prevented two runs from scoring by throwing out 2 different players at third base in the 5th and 6th innings. Jarvis added: "We lost to this team twice during the regular season, but I knew we could beat them in the championship. These boys are like a family, and families that stick together can overcome anything."

Jarvis went on to say that as much as he was proud of winning a third straight championship, he was even prouder of the fact that The Woodridge Bulldogs had 5 different teams play for a WSBL championship in different age groups. "We (Woodridge Bulldogs) are really staking our claim as the premier program in the area" concluded Jarvis.
