Two injured when car strikes motorcycles in Bartlett
Bartlett police continue to investigate a crash that hospitalized two motorcyclists late Saturday after they were struck by a car driven by a 79-year-old woman.
Police Sgt. Geoffrey Pretkelis said the Bartlett woman was driving east on West Bartlett Road in a 1997 Ford Escort when the vehicle drifted into the westbound lane of traffic at about 10:15 p.m. and struck the oncoming motorcycles.
A 52-year-old Woodridge man, who was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle, and a 52-year-old St. Charles woman, who was riding on a 2014 Harley-Davidson Road King, were injured. Both were transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin with nonlife threatening injuries, according to police.
The 79-year-old Bartlett woman was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates as a precaution.
Pretkelis said two motorcycles involved in a crash were riding with a group of 5 or 6 motorcycles at the time.
No citations have been issued yet, he added.
