Don't forget duties of family

Yes, it is a wonderful thing when the community rises to the challenges of educating children in poverty. Your series was enlightening. Thank you to the dedicated educators and administrators who welcome not only the students, but the parents as well.

Many of the children who come to school come without the enriching experiences that provide the basis upon which to attach the school connection. These experiences often are with entrance fees and other costs.

Time to be involved with ones children is a huge consideration too.

Two families interviewed, one on Tuesday and the other Thursday caused me to reflect on the notion of having children in a responsible way, having those that you can afford to provide a better life.

One family, seven children from Mexico and the second family, six children represented by three different men who fathered them.

I would hope that there is an effort to demand these men legally provide for their children.

I might be old-fashioned, but I feel that it is my husband and I, our responsibility to provide the structure and secure the future for our two children.

Both of the families in your series are reaping many benefits, including the education interventions and public support.
