Homeless man charged with sexually assaulting 16-year-old at Batavia home

A homeless man accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl is being held in Kane County jail on $250,000 bail.

Jay A. Davies, 52, faces two felony counts each of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Batavia police said Davies is accused of assaulting the teen at a Batavia home between Wednesday and Thursday. Police began investigating about noon Thursday. Batavia detectives tracked down Davies, who was taken into custody by officers about 2 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Davies would need to post 10 percent of his bail to be released.
