Two children hospitalized after being hit by cars in Hoffman Estates
A 7-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy were hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday after being struck by cars in separate crashes in Hoffman Estates.
Hoffman Estates police Sgt. Kasia Cawley said the 7-year-old was riding his bike on Bode Road near Roselle Road at 11:38 a.m. when he was struck by a car. The boy was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The 2-year-old was struck Tuesday afternoon by a car backing out of a driveway on Illinois Boulevard. Cawley said the person who called 911 reported that the toddler was trapped under the car. It was not immediately clear how the child was freed, Cawley said, but the boy was in stable condition by the time ambulances took him to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.
Cawley said both crashes are being investigated. No tickets have been issued in either case.
