Buffalo Grove honors great speller

The Buffalo Grove village board has recognized Aniket Nuthalapati's performance in the 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Nuthalapati qualified after winning the regional event conducted by the Lake County Regional Office of Education.

Nuthalapati was the only Illinois participant to qualify for the semifinals in Washington, D.C., at the end of May, where he finished 18 out of 285 contestants from the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Africa and Europe.

Nuthalapati also volunteers with community service ventures, particularly Feed My Starving Children, an organization committed to feeding hungry children worldwide.
