Everybody wins in Archdiocese Blackhawks wager

Thanks to the Blackhawks, a veterans home in Chicago will get a big box of grapefruit any day now, but the Archdiocese of Chicago is sending the deep dish pizza to Florida anyway.

Chicago Archbishop Cupich and Bishop Robert Lynch of the Diocese of St. Petersburg wagered pizza and grapefruit on the outcome of the Stanley Cup Finals - the pizza going to a Florida shelter and the grapefruit to St. Leo's residence for veterans in Chicago.

But the Gold Coast Lou Malnati's, donor of the pizza, will ship enough pizza to feed 300 guests of Pinellas Hope, a homeless shelter in Clearwater despite the Tampa Bay Lightness loss - and send some to St. Leo's as well, the Archdiocese said Wednesday.
