Wheeling man identified as pedestrian killed in Crystal Lake

Authorities have identified Wheeling resident Seymour Fishman, 80, as the man who was killed Tuesday after being struck while crossing Route 31 in Crystal Lake.
An autopsy performed Wednesday determined that Fishman died from injuries to the head and chest, according to a news release from the McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.
Fishman was hit at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday while crossing Route 31 just north of Route 176, Crystal Lake police said. He was taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry and pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m.
Crystal Lake police said no citations have been given out as of Wednesday morning, but officials are continuing to investigate.
