Buffalo Grove board OKs appointment of president's husband

Buffalo Grove trustees Monday without comment unanimously approved the reappointment of the village president's husband to a village committee.

When the issue came up at new Village President Beverly Sussman's first meeting in early May, Martin Sussman's appointment was blocked on a 3-2 vote after Trustee Jeffrey Berman raised a question about the propriety of Sussman appointing her husband. Sussman said she was shocked and upset by Berman's action.

The board Monday appointed Martin Sussman to the Committee for Residents with Disabilities as part of a number of appointment to various boards, committees and commissions. Martin Sussman was appointed as a member, as opposed to vice-chair, a position he held prior to the election.
