Acura dealership moving to former Dover Straits site in Hoffman Estates

A new Muller's Woodfield Acura dealership will open on the former site of Dover Straits restaurant at Golf Road and Gannon Drive in Hoffman Estates in the late spring of 2016.

The current Acura dealer on Higgins Road will become an Acura Pre-owned Certified Center.

The auto sales industry has rebounded very well and Muller's Woodfield Acura itself has had a history of consistent success, said Peter Gugliatta, Hoffman Estates' director of planning, building and code enforcement.

Scott Muller, president of the dealership, agreed that being able to separate the new and pre-owned vehicles on two approximately equal-sized sites will be a boon for the expanding business.

"We have a very good product in a very good area, and we're fortunate for that," Muller said.

Though the owner of Dover Straits cited Muller's Woodfield Acura's interest in the property as the reason the restaurant closed two years ago, the Hoffman Estates village board approved all the necessary permits for the dealership only Monday.
