Men's health event in Waukegan

Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center Dietitian Demetrius Willis will discuss how men can lead healthier and longer lives during a free event Saturday, June 20, from 9 to 10 a.m., in Fellowship Hall at Waukegan Community Church, 1016 Grand Ave., Waukegan. The event is part of National Men's Health Week, June 15-21. "There are simple things men can do every day to improve their health and stay healthy," Willis said. "Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables every day, getting more physical activity and enough rest are just a few. It is easy to follow steps to be healthier and stronger." Men's Health Week honors the importance of men's health and wellness, heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourages early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
