'It wasn't me,' says suspect in haunted house clown attack
Not only did Robert S. Keller not harass and attack a mom and four teens with sex toys outside the Massacre Haunted House in Montgomery last fall, but the Algonquin man was not even working for the haunted house when it happened.
That's the argument Keller, 24, is making in recent court filings asking a Kane County judge to dismiss a lawsuit he faces in connection with the alleged attack.
Regina Janito of Montgomery is suing Keller and the haunted house, claiming she and her kids were attacked, harassed and poked by Keller and another man dressed as clowns and brandishing sex toys while in the business' parking lot.
In court papers filed by Louis Pissios, who represents both Keller and the haunted house, the defense denies the attack occurred, and states that Keller was not an “agent or employee” of the Massacre Haunted House.
The two sides are next due in court for the lawsuit July 16.
Keller also faces a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge stemming from the accusations. That case is tentatively set for a jury trial July 7. If convicted, he could face anywhere from probation to up to a year in jail.
St. Charles to host bike rodeo
St. Charles police will hold a children's “bike rodeo” from 8 to 11:30 a.m. June 25, at James O. Breen Park, at the corner of Campton Hills and Peck roads.
The event allows kids 7 to 12 to practice and develop riding skills that will hopefully help them avoid crashes and be better overall cyclists. The rodeo will introduce participants to traffic laws and let them explore different skills courses.
Participants must bring their own helmet and fill out an application available at stcharlesil.gov that can be turned in at the front desk or the department, 211 N. Riverside Ave., or emailed to Officer Bill Tynan at btynan@stcharlesil.gov.

Senior police academy planned
The Campton Hills Police Department will host its first Senior Police Academy Aug. 17 to 21.
Classes are 10 a.m. to noon each day at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old La Fox Road.
Topics covered in the free academy will include cons/scams, personal safety, home security and driving safety. Class size is limited to 20. The deadline to enroll is Aug. 10. Call (630) 584-4242 or email chief@villageofcamptonhills.org.
