Taste of Des Plaines continues today

Taste of Des Plaines opened Friday night and continues today, with a tent of big-screen televisions available for Blackhawks fans

The festival, sponsored by the city, is a free event with food from local restaurants, family activities and tribute bands. The event runs from noon to 11 p.m. today at 1501 Miner St. adjacent to the Metra station. Bands include Acoustic Alibi at 1:30 p.m., Cowboy Jukebox at 3 p.m., Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute at 5 p.m., Mallrats at 7 p.m. and 97 Nine at 9 p.m.
