Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Elgin crash
One person was seriously injured Tuesday evening when an SUV and a motorcycle crashed in Elgin, police said.
A motorcycle traveling south on State Street and an SUV traveling north crashed near Wing Street about 7:15 p.m., Lt. Sean Rafferty said.
“It was not a head-on crash,” Rafferty said. “It appears that one of the vehicles may have been turning at that location. We don't have all of the information yet to determine who was at fault.”
The motorcyclist was seriously injured, taken to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to another hospital, he said. No further information was available.
The road was closed for three hours while police investigated.
