Severe thunderstorm warning until 5:30 for Kane, Kendall counties

The National Weather Service's latest severe thunderstorm warning is for Kane and Kendall counties until 5:30 p.m.

A warning for northeastern Cook County and DuPage County expired at 4:30 p.m.

Storms could contain quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Locations that could be hit by the storm include Aurora, North Aurora, Sugar Grove, Elburn and Boulder Hill, according to radar shown by the weather service.

An even earlier thunderstorm warning for Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties expired at 4 p.m., with hail falling in northern Lake County.
