Oak Brook police look for ruse burglary suspects
Oak Brook police are on the lookout for three people believed to have been involved in a ruse residential burglary last weekend.
Police said that two residents of a home on the 100 block of Concord Drive were approached by a man at 3 p.m. last Saturday who purported to be working for their neighbors. The man persuaded the couple to leave their house while he showed them an area in their yard; meanwhile police said accomplices in the scam went into the house and stole cash and jewelry.
The suspects were said to have been communicating with one another by cellphone or walkie-talkie in a foreign language, according to a news release.
One suspect is described as a white male with olive skin, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 60 years old. Another suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and 25 years old with stubby facial hair. A third unidentified suspect was driving the getaway vehicle, a black and a tan SUV.
Those with information are asked to contact Oak Brook police.
