Park District Hires Corrie Guynn as Assistant Superintendent of Parks

The Des Plaines Park District has announced the hiring of Corrie Guynn as its new Assistant Superintendent of Parks & Planning. Guynn comes to the district from Evanston, IL, where he worked in the Parks division of that City for 9-1/2 years. Guynn brings experience in sports field and turf management, landscape design, and managing special projects. "Corrie is a great addition to the administrative team here at the park district," said Paul Cathey, Superintendent of Parks & Golf Operations. "His specialized knowledge will be a great asset for both the Golf Center and the Lake Park golf courses, the Prairie Lakes soccer fields, and the renovations that are under way at Eaton Field Park."

In addition to being a Certified Arborist, Guynn is also a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. "I'm looking forward to making a difference in our parks across the district for all of the residents of Des Plaines," said Guynn. "This park district has a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, and it will be great to be a part of bringing all of that to a diverse community."
