Traveling Vietnam Wall arrives in Hoffman Estates

Escorted by the Patriot Guard, the Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall arrived at the Cabela's store in Hoffman Estates Tuesday afternoon for what will be a five-day display beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The Wall That Heals, as it is known, is a 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and bears the names of the more than 58,000 who died throughout its duration.

The traveling wall will be on display for free 24 hours a day from Thursday morning until Monday. Cabela's is located at 5225 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates.
