Students help spruce up butterfly garden in Elgin

Students at McKinley Elementary School dug up weeds and planted perennials Tuesday morning in their yearly effort to help spruce up the NorthEast Neighborhood Association of Elgin's butterfly garden.

The garden is at Ann Street and Douglas Avenue in Elgin.

Association volunteers worked alongside a couple dozen students from the fifth- and sixth-grade dual language and English Language Learners classrooms.
