Dollar comes before health of the world

This response is in regards to Mr. Degner's response to a previous letter's page submission from your May 24 edition. Mr. Degner is concerned about "the climate warming thieves" that want our tax dollars for climate change support.

The CDC, Environmental Protection agency and NASA all confirm that climate change is occurring and has disastrous consequences. Pretty reputable sources, wouldn't you say? Minor changes in temperature, even one degree, can alter the environment's fauna and flora causing imbalances in vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks to reproduce in great numbers causing diseases like West Nile virus, Lyme disease and too numerous other consequences to list here.

The National Science Foundation, an independent federal agency, also confirms a rise in these diseases. CO2, a byproduct of industrialization causes the majority of damage producing the "greenhouse effect," or trapping energy in the atmosphere. Conservative climate change deniers whored out their souls to big business so the almighty dollar comes before the health of the world.
