Lisle police: Man tries to lure two children, but sibling stops him

A man tried to lure two Lisle children to his car with the promise of toys and a game of hide and seek Wednesday night, before an older sibling intervened, police said Thursday.

Lisle police said the children, a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, began walking with the suspect toward his car about 7 p.m. Wednesday from an apartment complex playground on Warrenville Road, just west of Yackley Avenue. That's when authorities say the older sibling came over to the younger children and brought them home.

No one was hurt, and no assault occurred, police said.

The attempted child luring was reported to authorities at 8:34 p.m.

The suspect is described as a white male, tall and skinny, in his 30s, with balding hair and a "stubbly, scraggly" beard. He was last seen wearing a red Chicago Bulls T-shirt and jeans, and fled in a maroon Chevrolet Equinox.

Those who may have information are asked to call police at (630) 271-4200.
