Boomers fall to CornBelters

The Schaumburg Boomers fell behind early and never caught up, dropping a 9-4 decision Tuesday to the visiting Normal CornBelters, who hit 4 homers.

The Boomers rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth that included a 2-run triple by Justin Vasquez, who along with Craig Massey, and Alexi Colon all had 2 hits. Jordan Dean has a nine-game hitting streak and Massey has reached base in every game.

The Boomers (6-5) send right-hander Eddie Cody (2-0, 0.69 ERA) against Normal righty Kevin Johnson (0-1, 8.22) at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
