Covenant Village hosts open house

NORTHBROOK - Covenant Village of Northbrook, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, will host an open house celebration for its newest residential building, The Evergreen, from 2-5 p.m. May 28.

As part of the celebration activities, Neil Warnygora, executive director of Covenant Village of Northbrook, Sandra Frum, Northbrook village president, David Dwight, president of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence and representatives from PFB Architects and Leopardo Construction will deliver remarks. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the building and enjoy refreshments.

"The grand opening of the Evergreen building signifies the completion of our redevelopment plan of new buildings along the Techny Road entrance," said Warnygora. "With a growing population of seniors within the North Shore area, the development of the Town Center in 2009 and now The Evergreen building, equips Covenant Village of Northbrook to meet the current and future needs of seniors in our greater community."

The Evergreen is a four-story building containing 55 apartment homes with varying one-to-three bedroom floor plans and latest home finishes and details. The residential building also features keyless apartment entry, indoor parking, a common area with a large outdoor patio that overlooks the community's pond, and is the closest residential building to the Town Center, which is considered the "hub" of the senior living community. Additionally, the $22 million building incorporates several energy efficient systems including a heat recovery system and water source heat pumps.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit covenantnorthbrook.org or call (877) 816-5668.
