Mt. Prospect asking residents to take survey on video gambling

As part of a review of video gambling in Mount Prospect, the village board is asking residents and business leaders to offer their opinion on video gambling within Mount Prospect in an online survey as it reviews whether to continue a ban.

In 2009, the Illinois General Assembly passed video gambling legislation. In 2012, the state published the rules for video gambling. The village conducted a survey and based on the results, passed an ordinance prohibiting video gaming in July 2012. The survey will be available through June 1 at www.mountprospect.org.

The survey results will be made available to the Village Board prior to the video gaming discussion scheduled for the June 9th Committee of the Whole meeting.
