Police say social media meetup leads to robbery in Glendale Heights

A man was attacked and robbed by a group of people in Glendale Heights' Camera Park after one of their accomplices arranged for the meeting through social media, authorities said.

Police said the 22-year-old male victim was lured to the 100 block of Jacobsen Drive by Christina Hedges, 19, of Glendale Heights, who walked with him to the park where he was attacked by three males about 10:45 p.m. Thursday. The man was thrown to the ground, punched and kicked several times, and his wallet and cellphone were taken, according to a news release.

The four subjects fled, authorities said, but were soon located and arrested by police on the 1400 block of Westchester.

Hedges was charged with one count of robbery. Michael J. Green, 18, and Shawn Milliner, 19, both of Hanover Park, were each charged with robbery and aggravated battery. Police say the fourth person is a juvenile, and future charges against him are possible, pending further investigation.
