Barrington shows off downtown shopping, dining with Spring Wine Walk

The village of Barrington and more than 30 downtown-area Barrington merchants and restaurants will kick off the summer shopping season with free wine tastings and other tasty treats during the Spring Wine Walk from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 16.

Customers can begin the Wine Walk at any participating business by picking up a location map for the tastings.

“This is the fourth year the village has hosted wine walks, and the merchants are delighted to use this event to bring in shoppers from throughout the area to see everything Barrington has to offer,” said Anne Garrette, the village's event and marketing coordinator.

The participating stores include: Anderson's Candy Shop; Allegro Dance Boutique; Angelina; Barrington Flower Shop; Bravura Home & Gift Shop; Cooper's; Grassroots; Notice; Solisq; The Annex and Vin Chicago, in the village center.

Norton's U.S.A. and The English Daisy will host events on Lageschulte Street.

Jewel will offer wine tastings at The Ice House Mall on behalf of the Barrington Cultural Arts Center, Once in a Blue Moon, Savvy Spirit, Tommy Terri Boutique & Gifts and Tootsies Shoes.

The Barrington Commons merchants taking part are Carol and Company and Jennie and Vera's Sweets & Savories. North Cook Street merchants will be Heads Up Boutique and OMO.

The wines for Saturday's event are being provided by Heinen's Fine Foods, Garfield's Beverage Warehouse, Cooper's, The Annex, McGonigal's Pub, Grassroots, Ciao Baby, Jewel, Vintage Wine & Spirits and Vin Chicago.
