Roselle cops launch Click It or Ticket campaign

Roselle police are joining hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the state in a Click It or Ticket campaign to crack down on motorists who fail to wear their seat belts in the front or back seat.

"Memorial Day weekend kicks off the busy summer driving season, and we want to ensure that everyone arrives at their destination safe and sound," Sgt John Lawson said in a news release. "If law enforcement finds you on the road unbuckled anytime or anywhere, you can expect to get a ticket - not a warning. No excuses and no exceptions."

Authorities said there were a dozen fatalities on Illinois roads last Memorial Day weekend, three of which were alcohol-related.
