Raid nets more than $700,000 in drugs, cars

A judged jailed a Huntley man on a $1 million bond following a raid on his home that netted luxury vehicles and drugs worth more than $700,000 on the street, police say.

The arrest of Nicholas Domino and his wife Rocio followed a more than eight-month investigation by authorities from several law enforcement agencies, who executed a search warrant on their home Tuesday in the 9600 block of Bennington Drive.

Among the items confiscated were: five automobiles, including a luxury model and collector's model; several thousand dollars; 295 pounds of marijuana; more than 60 pills of MDMA, known as Molly; 500-plus prescription painkillers; and 25 grams of cocaine. Additional seizures are expected as authorities search other residences owned by Domino, police said.

Three additional people were also charged following the raid: Angelo Aranda, 20, of Huntley; Adam K. Domino, 24, Huntley; and Leanne S. Nevens, 19, of Huntley.

All three were charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of paraphernalia. All three were issued a $1,500 bond and are expected to appear in court again May 29.

Nicholas Domino, 45, was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver greater than 5,000 grams; one count possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school; three counts unlawful possession of cannabis greater than 5,000 grams; one count unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver greater than one gram; eight counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; and nine counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Rocio Domino, 37, was charged with one count of unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver greater than 5,000 grams; one count possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school; one count unlawful possession of cannabis greater than 5,000 grams; one count unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver greater than one gram; eight counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; and eight counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

A McHenry County judge issued a $1 million bond for Nicholas Domino, while Rocio received a $300,000 bond. Both husband and wife are expected in court again Friday.

The arrests were a joint effort between the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Rockford Office, Carpentersville Police Department, Lake in the Hills Police Department, Huntley Police Department, the Illinois Attorney General and the McHenry County State's attorney's office.
