Mass casualty drill in Gurnee
The Gurnee police and fire departments will conduct a mass casualty training exercise from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 2, at Woodland Intermediate School, 1115 Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. The exercise will include members of the Gurnee police and fire departments, and personnel and equipment from the Beach Park, Grayslake, Waukegan and Zion fire departments, U.S. Navy personnel, staff members from Woodland Elementary District 50, and select members of the general public. No children will be present as school will not be in session. Driveways leading into the school property and the Woodland Educational Support Center will be closed during the event. Main roadways such as Hunt Club Road, Cemetery Road and Route 132 will not be affected.
