Motorcyclist hurt in Des Plaines crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Wednesday evening in Des Plaines, fire officials said.

The collision with a minivan happened just before 7 p.m. at Golf and Mount Prospect roads, Des Plaines Battalion Chief Bob Ward said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with serious injuries, Ward said, while the driver of minivan declined medical treatment.

"There was significant damage to the motorcycle," Ward said. "I don't really know (the driver's) condition."

Police continue to investigate. ​
