Police: Man in truck tried to lure kids in Schaumburg

Schaumburg police want the public's help tracking down a man they say tried to lure two children Tuesday evening.

About 5:45 p.m., a white man in his 30s stopped his black pickup truck at Jaycee Park, 922 Cornell Lane, near two elementary school-aged children who were walking, Schaumburg police said in a news release.

The driver, wearing an orange cap, asked the children, "You want a ride?" police said.

The kids ran home. A private surveillance photo matched the description of the vehicle in question.
