Aurora-based Jazz Perspectives wins 2015 AABE Award
(AURORA, IL)-William Small Jr., founder of Aurora-based Jazz Perspectives, a talent management company, recently received the 25th annual Award for Business Excellence from the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
The company earned the award in the "Entertainment/Hospitality" category for their business achievement, growth and community involvement. The award was presented at the AABE recognition ceremony held recently at Medinah Shriners in Addison.
"I am honored to receive this distinction, simply for sharing my love of live music with others," Small said. "I love working with dedicated, talented musicians and helping them share their craft with others."
In 2010, Small took the leap to entrepreneurship after 25 successful years in sales management within the corporate world. In that time, Jazz Perspectives has more than doubled the number of musicians it works with in the musical genres of jazz, blues, R&B and acoustic talent. While the company once concentrated itself in the Chicago area, they now have clients in seven states and provide entertainment for hotels, restaurants and private events. He also helps clients secure performances on radio and television spots.
Jazz Perspectives has been recognized for offering the "Best Entertainment in Chicago's Western Suburbs" from Naperville Magazine and "A Spectacular Must Have for Your Holiday Party" from Glancer Magazine. They are also active in the community on the Board of Directors for the Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce (QCAACC) and on the Human Relations Commission in the City of Aurora.
The AABE awards go to outstanding suburban companies, businesses and nonprofit organizations in recognition of business achievement, growth and community involvement. Jazz Perspectives was one of 23 businesses recognized in 12 different categories.
