Sugar Grove seeking replacement for resigning trustee

Applications are being taken to fill the position of ailing Sugar Grove Trustee Robert Bohler.

Bohler announced his resignation in December, but chose to serve as long as he could until a replacement was made.

He is resigning because he is terminally ill with cancer.

The appointed trustee will serve the rest of Bohler's term, which expires in April 2017.

Applicants should obtain a Board Member Interest form online at sugar-grove.il.us, or pick one up at the Municipal Center, 10 S. Municipal Drive. Materials explaining the duties and necessary qualifications are also available.

Bohler began serving on the board in 1997.

"The village board is a cohesive group that looks out for the best interests of all our residents, businesses, and visitors," Village President Sean Michels said in a prepared statement. "It will not be easy to fill the seat of Trustee Bohler, however, his fellow trustees and I are confident that whomever joins us will be as attentive to the needs of the village as a whole as Trustee Bohler is,

Applications are due May 15.
