Streamwood police investigating domestic violence that caused miscarriage

Streamwood police are investigating reports of domestic violence that caused a pregnant woman to miscarry, authorities said.

Police said they learned Friday that a 21-year-old Streamwood woman had been a victim of repeated domestic violence, according to an acquaintance of the woman.

Police tried to contact the victim several times, and they found her at her job, according to a news release. The woman told them she was pregnant last year and had a miscarriage during a domestic violence incident that never was reported to police. The woman disposed of the unborn child's body at her home on Lincoln Court, the release said. Police added they have gotten a search warrant for the home and are investigating.
